in it.\u00a0 We are now going to practice this skill some more, but this time you are going to complete an activity yourself.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Let&#8217;s look at our activity.&#8221; (Presents students with a worksheet that has a box labeled &#8220;has sh&#8221; and &quot;doesn't have sh&quot;\" width=\"486\" height=\"575\" srcset=\"https:\/\/cdn-dev.vanderbilt.edu\/t2-my-dev\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/3220\/2019\/10\/Capture-11.jpg 486w, https:\/\/cdn-dev.vanderbilt.edu\/t2-my-dev\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/3220\/2019\/10\/Capture-11-254x300.jpg 254w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 486px) 100vw, 486px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Just like we did during our group practice, you are going to decide if the words in the box have or do not have &#8220;sh.&#8221;\u00a0 For words that do have &#8220;sh&#8221;, the box says &#8220;has sh.&#8221;\u00a0 It also has the thumbs up sign just like we used in our group practice activity.\u00a0 For words that do not have &#8220;sh,&#8221;\u00a0 the box says &#8220;doesn&#8217;t have sh.&#8221;\u00a0 It also has a thumbs down sign just like we used in our group practice activity.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;You are going to take your scissors and cut out each of the words.\u00a0 After you do that, you are going to decide if the word has &#8220;sh&#8221; or doesn&#8217;t have &#8220;sh.&#8221;\u00a0 You will take your glue and glue the work in the correct box.\u00a0 Remember that you have your &#8220;digraph sh&#8221; card to help you while you work.\u00a0 Let&#8217;s get started!&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>While the students are working, Mrs. Adams monitors the students.\u00a0 \u00a0She talks with Joey about the word &#8220;shuck&#8221; and how it does have &#8220;sh&#8221; in it.\u00a0 She refers him to his &#8220;digraph sh&#8221; card to help guide him while he works.\u00a0 Jordyn does not have a problem completing the activity.\u00a0 Oscar misplaces the word &#8220;shot&#8221; and<br \/>\nhot&#8221; on his worksheet.\u00a0 Mrs. Adams works with Oscar to correctly put these words in the boxes.<\/p>\n<p>After students are finished, Mrs. Adams concludes her lesson.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;You guys did a great job today with our lesson.\u00a0 You demonstrated that you know the sound that &#8220;sh&#8221; makes, that you can hear it in different words, and that you can decide if &#8220;sh&#8221; is in a word.\u00a0 Tomorrow we will work on finding &#8220;sh&#8221; at the end of words and spelling words with &#8220;sh&#8221;
