The Software Store has negotiated a new SAS contract with SAS Institute. Our old contract provided limited access to SAS for Windows PC and Linux Workstation for teaching and research use on Vanderbilt owned desktops and systems owned by employees and students.<\/p>\n
Under the new contract:<\/p>\n
\u2022\tWe can install SAS on an unlimited number of Vanderbilt owned Windows-based desktops and servers and Linux-based workstations.
\n\u2022\tFaculty and student home use remains intact.
\n\u2022\tWe qualify for discounted pricing for adding additional products to the contract.
\n\u2022\tWe retain access to the SAS Education Analytical Suite product bundle <\/p>\n
In the past, departments purchased SAS for Windows Server directly through SAS Institute and paid an estimated $4,847 per server for the first year of use, and $3,855 per server for the annual maintenance. <\/p>\n
Under the new contract, the Vanderbilt community can purchase SAS for Windows Server through the Software Store for just $32.50 per server (i.e. for the same price as the desktop version). SAS subscriptions expire on April 30 each year.<\/p>\n
Finally, Vanderbilt researchers may purchase a \u201cSAS for ACCRE\u201d account for $32.50 per user through the Software Store. Researchers can use the account to run SAS jobs on the ACCRE computing cluster.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
