{"id":1662,"date":"2014-11-06T17:35:49","date_gmt":"2014-11-06T22:35:49","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/my.dev.vanderbilt.edu\/softwarestore\/?p=1662"},"modified":"2014-11-06T17:35:49","modified_gmt":"2014-11-06T22:35:49","slug":"matlab-simulink-with-raspberry-pi-workshop-at-vanderbilt","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/my.dev.vanderbilt.edu\/softwarestore\/2014\/11\/matlab-simulink-with-raspberry-pi-workshop-at-vanderbilt\/","title":{"rendered":"MATLAB &amp; Simulink with Raspberry Pi Workshop at Vanderbilt"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Mathworks is hosting a free MATLAB workshop on campus next week.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Date: November 12, 2014<\/li>\n<li>Time: 2:00-5:00 p.m.<\/li>\n<li>Location: 298 Jacobs Hall<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.mathworks.com\/company\/events\/seminars\/seminar96638.html\">Register<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>This hands-on workshop provides an introduction to Simulink\u2019s hardware support capabilities.<\/p>\n<p>Using Raspberry Pi as the target platform, participants will develop, simulate, and test custom algorithms, and deploy them on a Raspberry Pi platform from within the Simulink environment.\u00a0 Lab modules will include examples of video and image processing: From simple video in\/out handling, to more sophisticated processing such as object recognition and edge detection.<\/p>\n<p>The workshop will provide practical hands-on experience, and by extension offer the attendees an understanding of the potential for use in the classroom, research, and student projects.<\/p>\n<p>At the end of this workshop, the participant will be able to:<\/p>\n<p>\u2022\u00a0\u00a0 Design, simulate and test custom algorithms in Simulink<\/p>\n<p>\u2022\u00a0\u00a0 Implement these algorithms on embedded hardware<\/p>\n<p>\u2022\u00a0\u00a0 Tune parameters, and optimize algorithm as it runs on hardware<\/p>\n<p>\u2022\u00a0\u00a0 Discover the ease of using Simulink to develop and deploy complex algorithms<\/p>\n<p><em>Note:<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>\u2022\u00a0\u00a0 The necessary laptops, software, and Raspberry Pi Kits will be made available to attendees for the duration of the workshop.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>\u2022\u00a0\u00a0 We have a limited class size for this workshop.
