{"id":1424,"date":"2013-11-21T14:28:41","date_gmt":"2013-11-21T14:28:41","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/softwarestore.vanderbilt.edu\/?p=1424"},"modified":"2013-11-21T14:28:41","modified_gmt":"2013-11-21T14:28:41","slug":"mathworks-support-changes","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/my.dev.vanderbilt.edu\/softwarestore\/2013\/11\/mathworks-support-changes\/","title":{"rendered":"Mathworks Support Changes"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Mathworks, the company that produces MATLAB, is updating its platform support model in response to changes in customer behavior.<\/p>\n<p>New supported platforms include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Windows 8.1: support begins with R2013a<\/li>\n<li>OS X 10.9 (Mavericks): Support begins with R2013a<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Dropped platforms include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Windows XP and Windows Vista: R2014b (expected next fall) is likely to be the last release supporting Windows XP and Windows Vista. If you are using XP or Vista, Mathworks recommends upgrading to a newer version of Windows before next fall.<\/li>\n<li>32-bit Windows: Mathworks will stop producing new releases for 32-bit Windows during 2014 and 2015.\u00a0 Mathworks recommends that 32-bit users migrate to 64-bit Windows.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>When Mathworks drops a platform, it stops offering new product releases and bug fixes for the dropped platform.<\/p>\n<p>See<a href=\"http:\/\/www.mathworks.com\/support\/sysreq\/roadmap.html?s_v1=57394740_1-AATTX\"> <\/a><a href=\"http:\/\/www.mathworks.com\/support\/sysreq\/roadmap.html?s_v1=57394740_1-AATTX\">the platform road map for MATLAB and Simulink<\/a> for more information.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Mathworks, the company that produces MATLAB, is updating its platform support model in response to changes in customer behavior.
