Motivations from computer science, natural language reasoning and linguistics have played a significant role in this development. The aim of the Shanks Workshop on Ordered Algebraic Structures and Logic, to be held in the Department of Mathematics of Vanderbilt University, 6-7 February 2016, is to bring together experts on both ordered structures and non-classical logics with the purpose of promoting further investigation into interactions between the two areas.\u00a0 The organizers of the workshop are J.
