{"id":327,"date":"2016-01-26T20:05:30","date_gmt":"2016-01-27T01:05:30","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/drgrundstrom.wordpress.com\/?p=205"},"modified":"2016-01-26T20:05:30","modified_gmt":"2016-01-27T01:05:30","slug":"information-about-eclipses","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/my.dev.vanderbilt.edu\/sced3890pedagogy\/2016\/01\/information-about-eclipses\/","title":{"rendered":"Information About Eclipses"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Here are some of my favorite sites for learning about eclipses (including the upcoming Great American Eclipse!):<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.mreclipse.com\/MrEclipse.html\" >Mr. Eclipse<\/a> (the guy NASA uses)<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/eclipse.gsfc.nasa.gov\/eclipse.html\">NASA Eclipse Web Site<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.eclipse2017.org\/eclipse2017_main.htm\" >eclipse2017.org<\/a> (make sure to check out the AMAZING\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.eclipse2017.org\/xavier_redirect.htm\" >interactive Google map<\/a>!)<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.timeanddate.com\/\" >timeanddate.com<\/a> (and their <a href=\"http:\/\/www.timeanddate.com\/eclipse\/in.html\" >eclipse list<\/a>)<\/li>\n<li>Of course, one can certainly use the Wikipedia article on <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Eclipse\" >Eclipses<\/a> (you can also go specifically to lunar and solar)<\/li>\n<li>One of my favorite astronomer-bloggers, Phil Plait (the &#8220;Bad Astronomer&#8221;) has a nice <a href=\"http:\/\/www.slate.com\/blogs\/bad_astronomy\/2014\/04\/12\/lunar_eclipse_on_april_14_the_earth_s_shadow_swallows_the_moon.html\" >article<\/a> with some good diagrams and pictures<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<div data-shortcode=\"caption\" id=\"attachment_224\" style=\"width: 810px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-224\" src=\"https:\/\/drgrundstrom.files.wordpress.com\/2016\/01\/moonslide_seip_c800-apod.jpg?w=604\" alt=\"moonslide_seip_c800-APOD\"   \/><\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-caption-text\">&#8220;Moon Slide (slim)&#8221; from Astronomy Picture of the Day. This <a href=\"http:\/\/apod.nasa.gov\/apod\/ap080220.html\">&#8220;Moon-trail&#8221; by Stefan Siep<\/a> was created by just opening the shutter and keeping it open for about 3 hours.
