For now, they\u2019re taking\u00a0place mostly\u00a0on\u00a0my computer screen\u00a0in\u00a0the\u00a0former\u00a0guest room, now office,\u00a0of\u00a0my house. But no matter where\u00a0things happen,\u00a0our conversations together\u00a0continue to shape the ongoing work of the Humanities Center\u00a0and\u00a0our shared commitment to building a better world through research, teaching, and public engagement in the humanities and the humanistic social sciences.<\/p>\n<p>That&#8217;s what I hope this blog will be. A\u00a0place where\u00a0everyone\u00a0is\u00a0always welcome\u00a0to stop by, share a story, and\u00a0participate in enriching conversation.<\/p>\n<p>Here, you might learn about a little-known figure from history or see how to view past and current events through an entirely new lens. Maybe you\u2019ll discover a great book that provides an escape while challenging a long-held perspective. Or perhaps you\u2019ll discover an upcoming community event that will enable you to turn your ideals into action.<\/p>\n<p>Each week, we\u2019ll\u00a0post short articles covering a wide spectrum of humanities-related topics. This year we are especially interested in pieces that focus on the following themes:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Imagining Cities<\/li>\n<li>Social Justice<\/li>\n<li>Science + Humanities<\/li>\n<li>Career Diversity<\/li>\n<li>Public Humanities<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>We\u2019ll also be using our blog to help you get to know some of the Fellows who are affiliated with the Warren Center\u2014as well as some of the speakers participating in our many upcoming events and seminars.<\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s\u00a0your voices that we want to amplify.
