It&#8217;s slightly eerie how the environment is programmed to mimic the natural environment; for example, the water moves in a way that mimics real waves. These small details help to make the game feel authentic and more thoroughly representative of reality. I found the gait of the avatars to be interesting too, as it was clear that the forms and figures moved in a seemingly organic and &#8220;human&#8221; manner. It was also strange interacting with the other avatars and seeing other people in this virtual environment &#8211; and knowing full well that behind these avatars were people at their computer monitors, just like me. I chose an avatar (female, dark hair, thin) that most closely resembled me in an attempt to make the program as &#8220;real&#8221; as possible for me. However, no one in the program has any way of knowing what I look like or who I am &#8211; they only see the avatar and my username and that is the basis of my identity in the program.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Second Life provides a very interesting Virtual Reality experience.
