In her distinction between the two, she addresses the way that &#8216;infrastructural violence&#8217; both passive and active are markers of how the government has failed in their attempts towards &#8216;progress and development.&#8217;<\/p>\n<p class=\"whitespace-pre-wrap\">In her use of the midwives as the bridge it was also interesting to see how they exist in a space where they are working with and also against the state. This brings me to the question of how do Dixon&#8217;s findings challenge the dichotomy between traditional and biomedical knowledge, and also how does Mexico&#8217;s history play into the &#8216;conditioning&#8217; occurring amongst women in Mexico.<\/p>\n<p class=\"whitespace-pre-wrap\">\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>What stood out to me while reading this text was the way that Dixon made the distinction between global health as a noun and then as a verb.
