Posted by Alena Colborn on Thursday, October 19, 2017 in News.
UPDATE: We are very excited about our technology upgrades and we continue to find ways to educate and share our excitement with you, our members. We want to clarify some details from our initial card announcement.
- All VUMC Cards will work with our touchless turnstiles.
Approved Commodore Card and Rec Cards:
We appreciate your continued patronage here at the Rec.
Our new membership system & turnstiles will allow you access to our facilities with an iCLASS card. iCLASS cards contain a microchip and antenna that work with our contactless card readers. We will be discontinuing use of the Magnetic Swipe Reader at the Welcome Desk effective Wednesday, November 1, 2017.
The following provisions have been established to assist you in getting a new ID card to access our facilities:
- If you are a University Employee, Student, or an employee of Vanderbilt University Medical Center, the Card Offices here at Vanderbilt are equipped to help you transition to the new iCLASS card. Please visit your respective card office at your earliest convenience to get a replacement card for free!
- If you are an Alumni, Community, or a family member, the Welcome Desk here at the Rec has the capability to print your first Rec Member iCLASS card for free! Please see a Rec Staff member at the Welcome Desk to get started.
** Keep in mind, the Rec Member card printed at the Rec will only allow you access to our facilities. This card cannot be used for access to any other Vanderbilt facilities.
We are thrilled you have decided to make us a part of your healthy lifestyle this year!
