capability in controlling<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">acoustic and elastic waves by manipulating band gaps that forbid waves to propagate within<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">targeted frequency ranges.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p class=\"p1\">Modeling of\u00a0transient wave propagation in these composites using direct numerical simulations is computationally prohibitive for structural design and analysis.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Objective<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li class=\"p1\">Develop a multiscale computational framework for efficient modeling of transient wave propagation in periodic viscoelastic composites, capturing wave dispersion and bandgap phenomenon.<\/li>\n<li class=\"p1\">\n<p class=\"p1\">Investigate the effects of microstructural morphology, elastic and viscoelastic constituent
