Rogers<\/strong>\u00a0completed her PhD\u00a0in K-12 Education Policy and Leadership Studies\u00a0in the Department of Leadership, Policy, and Organizations at Vanderbilt University\u2019s Peabody College of Education\u00a0and Human Development.<\/p>\n<p>Laura\u2019s\u00a0research primarily focuses on principal development, teacher effectiveness, and the relationship between school organizational decisions and outcomes.\u00a0Her dissertation work leverages survey, administrative, and interview data to understand the implementation of a new model of principal support and supervision in a single school district over time. Her methodological interests include survey research and mixed methods.<\/p>\n<p>Laura\u00a0is working with Ellen Goldring, Jason Grissom, and Mollie Rubin on the evaluation of the Principal Supervisor Initiative, a Wallace Foundation initiative that aims to improve the quality of principal supervision in six urban school districts across the country. With Sy Doan, she is\u00a0one half of an ongoing project\u00a0under the Tennessee Educational Research Alliance that investigates how teacher grade assignments\u00a0relate to\u00a0their career outcomes and instructional effectiveness.\u00a0She has also\u00a0assisted Xiu Cravens\u00a0in the study of Teacher Peer Excellence Groups (TPEGs), a pilot model for building teacher communities of practice in Tennessee.<\/p>\n<p>Prior to entering the program in LPO, Laura taught early elementary school in Colorado and English language in rural Japan. She\u00a0earned\u00a0her MA in Curriculum and Instruction and BA\u00a0in English Literature from the University of Colorado. A proud Coloradan, she is comfortable\u00a0on either side of tree line.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Laura K.
