{"id":313,"date":"2019-11-02T08:59:25","date_gmt":"2019-11-02T08:59:25","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/my.dev.vanderbilt.edu\/cs8395computationandcognition\/?page_id=313"},"modified":"2020-10-22T15:27:40","modified_gmt":"2020-10-22T15:27:40","slug":"project-paper-references-update","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/my.dev.vanderbilt.edu\/cs8395computationandcognition\/project-paper-references-update\/","title":{"rendered":"Project Paper References update"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>For the first in-class project update, prepare and submit a Powerpoint presentation under Assignments on Brightspace, The slides will be structured as follows.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Give full references of sources found so far\n<ul>\n<li>use\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/APA_style\">APA style<\/a> (same as required for final paper)<\/li>\n<li>give full references in meaningful clusters, if appropriate, so that some of you will not have a single linear list, but references that will inform different aspects of your paper will be shown within clear cluster boundaries (e.g., different slides; same slide with appropriate line spacing, some combination)<\/li>\n<li>each cluster should have a meaningful label, perhaps corresponding to a section or subsection heading<\/li>\n<li>references will be shown in black font, but if you list a reference more than once across clusters then show the second and subsequent references in <span style=\"color: #ff0000\">red font<\/span>.<\/li>\n<li>clustered references will be the first one-to-few slides of your update<\/li>\n<li>plan on talking about a minute about the clusters<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>pick two papers from the references that you give above, and prepare\/present a single slide for each, using bulleted highlights for each. Plan on about a minute for each.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>You will have up to 5 minutes minutes this time, and that includes questions. Check your spelling and grammar &#8212; it matters! This update is mainly to ensure that you are well on your way to exploring the literature.
