{"id":36,"date":"2015-07-06T10:53:43","date_gmt":"2015-07-06T15:53:43","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/my.dev.vanderbilt.edu\/shanks2016\/?page_id=36"},"modified":"2018-05-13T21:15:50","modified_gmt":"2018-05-13T21:15:50","slug":"support-requests","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/my.dev.vanderbilt.edu\/at16\/support-requests\/","title":{"rendered":"Support Requests"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Pending NSF support, we hope to be able to assist students, postdoctoral attendees, and other\u00a0young participants who have to pay a substantial portion of their own costs.\u00a0Those of you who expect to be in need of support\u00a0are encouraged to apply by downloading this <a href=\"https:\/\/cdn-dev.vanderbilt.edu\/t2-my-dev\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2815\/2018\/05\/supportform.pdf\">support form,<\/a> and mailing it to the indicated address by<em>\u00a0April 1, 2019<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>Please note that we\u00a0cannot provide any funds in advance of\u00a0the meeting.\u00a0 You will have to buy your ticket yourself, and if we are able to provide some support to you,\u00a0we will send you a check only\u00a0after the meeting. However, we may be able to pay (part or all of) your room\u00a0costs directly to the hotel. We may ask you to share a room.<\/p>\n<p>Support amounts, if any, will be based on need, and\u00a0students and postdocs\u00a0with limited access to travel funds will be given preference.\u00a0We will decide about travel awards and send applicants a\u00a0notification no later than <em>April 8, 2019<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p><b>\u00a0<\/b><\/p>\n<p>Note on air travel: Our funding sponsor requires that those receiving support for air travel fly roundtrip on a <em>U.S. flag airline<\/em> if at all possible.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Reimbursement procedures:<\/strong> If your request for support has been approved, please proceed as follows.<b><\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>If you are a non-U.S. resident please fill out the online <a href=\"http:\/\/www.vanderbilt.edu\/gss\/enews\/questionnaire.php\">Business Visitor Questionnaire<\/a> (BVQ) before arriving.<\/li>\n<li>At the conference please ask at the registration desk for the necessary forms that you must complete in order to report your expenses and receive your reimbursement.<\/li>\n<li>We will need original and detailed receipts for all expenses. Receipts must indicate method of payment (including last four digits of card number for credit\/debit card payments).<\/li>\n<li>Reimbursement checks will be mailed after the conference is over.
